English Indonesian Space Dictionary, Published in 2010. 139 pages. Indonesia is the second country after Canada that launched its first domestic communication satellite PALAPA in 1976. Today Indonesia has embarked upon in a domestically conceived twin-satellite for disaster monitoring and mitigation as a major step in its capacity development. This book is an English-Indonesian and Indonesian-English space lexicon of a basic list containing more than 2600 terms. The editorial team preparing this book was Indonesian. The words contained in this book were extracted from a large database of terms translated by a large group of international specialists to 20 languages. The work was validated and sponsored by the main concerned space agencies in the world. This homogenous system of terms is covering various fields of astronautics like space science, technology, medicine, law etc. General and common terms have been ignored. This book is intended to help the work of decision-makers, scientists, engineers, commercial and experts in charge of contracts, translators and librarians. The Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia sponsored the initial data base work and the publication of the book together with the Intitute of Technology Bandung Press.
